You’ll Meet People

Youth ministry should be purposeful, active, engaging, and spiritual. Joy is a place for you to grow closer to God, a place for you to deepen your relationships with peers and leaders, and a place for you to learn to serve others.

CONFIRMATION CLASSES

Confirmation is all about growing—in understanding and in faith—by God’s grace. If you have matured past Sunday School age (usually beginning around grade 5-7), you may be ready to begin working towards your confirmation. This is when you add your “yes” to the promises made by your parents/caregivers and sponsors at your baptism.
Confirmation at Joy is a two-year program. One year is focused on the Bible - both the Old and the New Testament. The other year is focused on the Small Catechism - teaching about things like the 10 Commandments, the Apostle’s Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper. The class schedule varies year to year and attempts to work with the families involved. Once classes are finished, you will be invited to publicly profess your faith.
Art & Craft

Youth & Young Adults Group

Junior high, high school, and even the time following can be tough years. This is when we try to iron our who we are, wonder why we were put on this earth, and try to find those friends that will always have our backs.

Joy Youth & Young Adults Group can’t make this process completely painless, but we can help. Here, you’ll see that you’re a unique and important part of God’s plan. You’ll find the meaning that comes from a life of service. You’ll meet people who share your values.

Joy Youth & Young Adults Group normally meets the second Friday of each month for fun activities, in or out of the church. But we’re not only about having fun. You’ll also find us doing service, mission, and learning activities that help us to grow spiritually and make our community a better place.

We recognize that our youth are the church of TODAY and we work to empower you to use your spiritual gifts in service to the Church and the world in many ways.
