Older, Wiser Lutherans: OWLs

You don’t really need to be old to join. Or wise for that matter. Or even Lutheran. But what we definitely ARE is a group of people who enjoy each other’s company.
Psalm 133 says “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”

OWLs meet at
9 a.m.

“Do you want to be my friend?” As a kid on the playground, that’s all it took. A few simple and straightforward words were enough to initiate a relationship that could span years.

In adulthood, in feels a lot more complicated. Usually, it’s situations like a shared workplace or school that bring us together and help us to bond. When we reach our golden years, we may find ourselves in these types of situations less frequently, but the need for camaraderie, encouragement, and fun remains.

OWLS: Older, Wiser Lutherans.

You don’t really need to be old to join. Or wise for that matter. Or even Lutheran. (Although most of us would probably claim to fall into at least one of these categories.) But what we definitely ARE is a group of people who enjoy each other’s company.
Are you looking for a way to meet others?
OWLS meets for a 9 a.m. restaurant breakfast on the last Wednesday of every month, except December. We also organize outings, which in the past have included Goldeyes baseball games, matinees at Celebrations Dinner Theatre, mini golf, 5-pin bowling, and a summer garden party.

Once a year we collect a membership fee – the amount is left to members' discretion. This fee is usually used to support Joy’s ministries, including St. Aidan's Christian School, Kuwala Christian Girls School, and Joy Youth and Young Adults Group.

Our seesaw days might be over, but we’d like to be your friends.
